The AC Flora Falcons are just two years removed from a State Championship and finished 2021 9-2 overall and 4-1 in region play. Head Coach Ken Floyd and the Falcons believe this team will be special and can make a similar run.
A veteran group on offense returns with seniors Markell Townawbs (5’8,180) at RB, WR Chris Lofton (5’10,170), one of the regions most dynamic players dangerous in every phase of the game, TE Jack Moseley (6’3,240), the Midlands’ top OL Kindarious Kinard (6’3,310), OL Alexander Koutrakos (6’1,310), OL Ben Holmes (6’7,280), WR Jack PUrdy (6’3,190) and Quarterback Carew Bates (6’1,175). Junior Heath Moser (6’0, 190) will take snaps at QB, as well and when he does, Bates will play at WR.
Defensively, seniors John Friday (5’10,185) and Mason Little (6’1,210) will hold down linebacker spots, with seniors Xavier Dow (5’8180) at corner, Andre Thomas (6’3,230), Kareem Young (5’10,180) and Dontavious Pettus (5’8,170) both at DB, along with sophomore Sterling Reese (6’1,160).
Juniors who return to defense are Braxton Burton (6’3,315) on the line, Eric McClain (5’10,185) at LB, Ryan Biggerstaff (5’9,160) at safety, Zach Verzyl (6’0,180) at safety, Albert Perkins (6’1,215) at linebacker and Germonte Williams (5’10,225) at DE.
“We have the pieces to make a special run this season,” said Coach Floyd. “We are excited to get started.”
