The Headhwood Hall Highlanders finished 2021 with a 5-6 regular season mark, losing in the first round of the playoffs to Porter Gaude. This season, the Highlanders move up to the new 4A Classification for SCISA and have a strong core of senior returning starters to lead the way.
On offense, they have three players returning who were all-sregion and one all-state. OL Tripp Campbell (6’3,285) was all-state, Center John Nagy (5’11,250) and RB Dylan Lesesne (5’10,190) were both all-region. They are joined by Junior WR Thompson Dubose (5’11,180).
Defensively, the returning seniors are defensive end Nick Johnson (6’3,210) who was also all-region, outside linebacker MIchael Blthazor (5’10,180), Corner Gabe Cooper (6’3,190) all region, and safeties Neil Kennard (5’10,180) and Reid Liester (5’11,175). Also returning are juniors, noseguard MItchell McKay (6’3,240) and inside linbacker JB Belk (5’11,180).
They also bring back kicker/punter Will Frick (6’1,190) who was an All-State selection.
