Establishing a program is a process and Eau Claire head football coach Shaq Hilton knows that and he understand the game. I had the pleasure of watching this man as a high school player and if he coaches this team with the same commitment he had as a player, the Shamrocks got a good one.
“We returned about 9 in our core group who all got tons of experience last season,” said Hilton, “but we know we have a lot of work to do.”
On offense, the Shamrocks return senior wide receivers Rickie Murray (5’7,150) and Sincire Saxon (6’2,165) along with Anthony Hayes (5’11,170) who will also play defense. Senior OL Anthony “boyd (5’9,240), Tight end Troy Henry (5’11,210) will also play both ways, as will junior running back Lamar Eddy (6’1,240) and junior OL Jeremiah Talford (5’8,200).
On defense, Junior Christian Anderson (6’2,205) will play free safety and Saqohn Canzater (6’0,215) will play defensive end and see time on offense at end, as well. Sophomore Gary Gownes (6’10,170) will play LB and see some time at running back.
“Right now we are expecting to be around .500 and the goal is to host a home playoff game,” said Hilton. “In order to do this we must win 2-3 región games in our tough region. We have had a great summer camp with our revamped staff, and We look forward to the challenge.”
