Clemson wants to sign two tight ends for the 2023 class and Tuesday the Tigers publicly filled that quota with a commitment from Markus Dixon (6-5 230) of Warminster, PA. He joins Olsen Henry as the tight ends committed to Clemson. Dixon made his official visit on June 3rd, and he chose Clemson over Oregon, Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Cincinnati and Miami.
“I think Clemson by far has a foot in the next direction of athletics and academics,” Dixon said following his official visit. “Really outstanding school and nothing but a good environment.
Dixon said Clemson tight ends coach Kyle Richardson views him as a stretch the field type of tight end, similar to one the Tigers had in Jordan Leggett.
“He loves the fact I’m an athletic tight end. I can split out and just kill the SAM linebackers and pretty much any safety or anybody that wants to cover me,” Dixon said. “He loves my frame and pretty much loves my game.”
Dixon gives Clemson 11 commitments for their 2023 class. That number could reach an even dozen tomorrow when DT Victor Burley of Warner Robins, GA announces his commitment decision with Clemson, Georgia and Tennessee his stated finalists.
