The Hammond Skyhawks are 3-2 but lets face it, they haven’t lost to a SCISA team yet. Their losses were to a football factory private school from Georgia and a narrow defeate to the defending 5A Champions, Gaffney. Last week, they trounced Wilson Hall in a 59-0 shut out and this week they take on a winless Camden Military that should be a win again. They are getting great play from their defense, led by LB Rucker Brannon with 44 tackles and DE Conner Stephens with 4 sacks.
Heathwood Hall is sitting at 3-2 after knocking off Cardinal Newman 33-26 this past week. They did it with strong play from QB Patrick Belk and senior RB Dylan Lesesne. So far, the freshman QB has more than 800 yards passing and 200 yards rushing on the season. This week, they take on a traditionally strong Augusta Christian team.
Ben Lippen falls to 3-2 after losing to Porter Gaude by 20 last week. The Falcons
have played very strong defense most of the season and are getting great play on offense from quarterback Dobson Ricks. This week, they face Cardinal Newman, who is coming off the loss to Heathwood Hall. The Cardinals have gotten plenty of offense this season but their defense has given up some big plays that have cost them. They are gettinging strong play from RB AJ Reyes and TE/WR Logen Busenlehner. QB Dylan Skehan is amont the Midlands’ leadsers in passing, as well. This should be a great game.
