5A Top Performers Through Two Weeks
This is not a prospect ranking. This is simply a ranking of the top performers and impact players through the first two weeks of the season.
1. Jonah Norris, RB, Lexington
Norris has been the workhorse of the Wildcats in the first two weeks, rushing for 433 yards and carrying the ball 50 times in two games. He’s scored seven touchdowns and that leads all 5A players in the Midlands.
2. Jarvis Green, RB, Dutch Fork
Green has carried the ball 42 times for 375 yards and scored 3 touchdowns. He’s carried the Silver Foxes through two games while their passing game continues to struggle. He was the force behind the win over Spartanburg last week.
3. Edward Robinson, DL, Blythewood
Robinson has been a one man wrecking crew for the Bengals defense. In just two games he’s collected 24 total tackles, 6 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 2 fumble recoveries.
4. David Wilson, LB, Spring Valley
Wilson leads the Midlands in tackles at 27. He has 1 sack and is forcing offenses to look the other way when running the football.
5. Cooper Johns, RB, River Bluff
Very similar back to Norris from Lexington, Johns has carried the ball 21 times for 250 yards and 5 touchdowns. His touches have been limited due to blowout wins.
6. Taiden Mines, QB, Lexington
Mines has completed 64% of his passes for 451 yards and 5 touchdowns and rushed for 123 yards and another score.
7. J’Von Mack, DB, Dutch Fork
Mack has played excellent coverage for the Foxes against two strong quarterbacks. He has ten tackles on the season but more importantly, 2 interceptions to stop opposition drives and 2 pass breakups.
8. Christian Sexton, LB, Lexington
Has racked up 23 tackles, 3 for loss along with a fumble recovery. He’s the fourth leading tackler in Midlands 5A and 5th overall.
9. Parker Murray, QB, River Bluff
This sophomore has passed for 259 yards and 4 touchdowns in two games to help lead the Gators to a 2-0 start.
10. KD Outten, LB, Lugoff-Elgin
Outten has been busy for the Demons, collecting 23 tackles, a sack and a forced fumble.
