Spring Valley’s Nigel Ancrum, a football and track star for the Vikings, participated in the AAU National Championships this past week, where he captured gold in the 100m and silver in the 200m. He won the national 100m championship with a time of 1o.18 and ran a 21.06 in the 200m. His personal best in the 200 is 20.08.

As a sophomore,  Ancrum won the SC Track and Field Championship in both the 100m and 200m, and was part of the state championship 4x100m relay team.

In AAU, Ancrum runs for Team Blaze.

Spring Valley football coach Robin Bacon said Ancrum is one of the fastest players he’s ever coached.

“He’s fast,” said Bacon, “if we can just get him the ball in space. No one will catch him.”

Ancrum plays wide receiver and running back for the Vikings.
