Rising Star: 2025 DE Dekontee Mack

One of the things I love about watching film when evaluating players is finding young, unheralded rising stars. The future stars are always obscure in that film but they are there.

Meet Class of 2025 Dakontee Mack of Westwood High School.

Mack is a 6-3, 235lbs sophomore defensive end for the RedHawks. He’s turned in a 4.8 40 at camps this summer.

He was a late season starter on Varsity as a freshman and had 16 tackles, 4 sacks and 4 tackles for loss.

He’s a two-sport athlete and started for Westwood’s varsity basketball team where he plays center, as well as a 3 and 4.

He had some success as an edge rusher with his natural abilities and will develop into a strong edge guy when he learns some more rush technique.

I look forward to watching Mack develop over the next three seasons
