The Class of 2024 Position Rankings for Midseason is here and there are several positions that are heavy with talent. These position rankings will definitely change by the end of the season but these are how we see them right now at the mid-season mark.
The running back position is deep for the Class of 2024 and there isn’t a bad one on this list. Andrew Jackson’s Trey Thompson is one that I believe is going to see his recruiting stock jump off the charts this off season during camps. Gilbert’s’ Jaden Allen-Hendrix has an offer from Louiville but I’m not sure if he will remain at RB at the next level. Both Thompson and Allen-Hendrix are downhill runners. Noah Kelson has been the 2nd guy at AC Flora but the kid is a solid prospect. He’s got power and explosive speed and is not eady to tackle. Caleb Pearson of CA Johnson is a small framed speedster who can get to the edge and separate from defenders. He’s also a good defensive back and could get recruited as a corner in small school.
Averee Hickman is a strong back for Camden and is very good at running between the tackles. Brookland-Cayce’s DeShawn Washington is a two way player who took over as a starter during his sophomore season. He’s got a solid rame and is very physical. He also plays linebacker and I could see him getting recruited as a linebacker. Lower Richland’s Lamarion Pearson is a smaller speedster similar to Caleb Pearson; he’s more of a slasher type of back but defeinitley can play at some level on Saturdays. Calhoun County’s Ahmir Smith may be the sleeper on this list. He’s got a good
frame but has lethal speed. He can line up in a slot and be dangerous on jet sweeps. When he hits the edge, he turns his shoulders North-South and explodes. Crestwood’s Aazrion Yates is a bigger bodied running back, very similar to Allen-Hendrix of Gilbert. He’s got a powerful lower body and gets tough yards between the tackles. Ben Lippen’s Tae Copney is a dual role this year as a wide receiver and running back but look for him to be the feature back for the Falcons next season. He’s got a good frame, good speed and is explosive as a back. He averagtes 7 yards per carry as a back and is averaging 20 yards per reception as a receiver.
