Games of the Week: Week Six

AC Flora Falcons at Chapin Eagles

RB Noah Kelson

The Falcons bring in their unbeaten squad to Chapin to take on the 3-2 Eagles. This will be a test for the Eagles defense.

Players to Watch for Flora: RB Markell Townsend, RB Noah Kelson

Players to Watch for Chapin: QB Brady Albro, LB Nolan Beerman

My thoughts: Chapin has been less than impressive at stopping the run and that is the strength of the Falcons’ offense – good backs behind a good OL.

My Pick: AC Flora

Cardinal Newman at Ben Lippen

Cardinal Newman RB AJ Reyes

Both teams are coming off of a loss and both defenses will need to tighten up this week.

Players to Watch for Cardinal Newman: RB AJ Reyes, TE/DE Logan Busenlehner

Players to Watch for Ben Lippen: QB Dobson Ricks, LB Will Helmadollar

My Thoughts: both teams have strengths and they actually match up. The key to this game will be the play of the Cards offensive line. The Falcons defense is stout and will challenge their explosive offense.

My Pick: Cardinal Newman

Gilbert at Saluda

Chance Jennings

The Indians were dominated last week from being too one dimensional on offense. This week, they face one of the states best 2A programs in unbeaten Saluda.

Players to watch for Gilbert: RB Alias Graham-Woodberry, QB Chance Jennings

Players to watch for Saluda: RB Breydan Williams, QB Jonas McCary

My thoughts: Saluda has been impressive and this team can score points but Gilbert is too strong on offense and will out match the Tigers. Look for this to be a good game.

My Pick: Gilbert

Irmo at Airport

Irmo LB Jalil Favor

Irmo got a huge win over Hartsville last week, while Airport beat Fox Creek. Irmo has been without their starting QB for three weeks but got good play from back up last week.

Players to Watch for Irmo: QB AJ Brand, DB Malachi Smith

Players to Watch for Airport: WR Apollos Cook, DB Kendell Strohman

My thoughts: Airport is still struggling on offense and Irmo has their wheels back with Brand and their defense is more physical than the Airport offense.

My Pick: Irmo

River Bluff at Dorman

Cooper Johns

The River Bluff Gators are 5-0 and have done it with the ground game so far. But they face a Dorman team that will be one of the two best teams they see all season.

Players to Watch for River Bluff: QB Parker Murray, RB Cooper Johns

Players to Watch for Dorman: RB Denarius Foster, RB Kendell Williams

My thoughts: The Dorman ground game is strong behind one of the best OLs in the state. They score every nine plays so keeping the ball from them will be key.

My Pick: Dorman

St. Frances (Md.) at Dutch Fork

LB Jaylin Hinton

The Dutch Fork Silver Foxes have not been full strength on offense all season. Defensively, they are unmatched. St Frances is a football factory loaded with 4 star and 5 star players.

Players to watch for Dutch Fork: LB Jaylen Hinton, LB Chandler Perry

Players to watch for St. Frances: RB Durrell Robinson, QB Michael Van Buren

My thoughts: St Frances is a run offense, putting up almost 1000 yards in 3 games. But they face a defense that will be the best they’ve seen and the beat coached team they’ve seen.

My Pick: Dutch Fork
