Friday Night Feats Importance

CLICK HERE TO FILL OUT YOUR FRIDAY NIGHT FEATS FORM

I’ve been compiling Friday Night Feats for twenty five years in South Carolina and actually started doing it in 1986 in Florida when I published Panhandle Recruiting. This has become one of the more popular items that I do on our websties. In 2000, I began putting the list in an email/newsletter format and sending it to the network of college coaches around the country. It goes to every office and it goes to the individual coaches who recruit our area for their schools. So it is important to make sure these get sent in so the coaches can keep up with your performances on a weekly basis. The email/newsletter is titled “Prospect Report” and is just that – it gives a report of how the prospects are doing. So if you are on their radar already, they can keep up with you. And if you’re not on their radar, well, then they are going to start recognizing your name as it comes across their email each week.

The cumalitive stats that we get from the coaches are also compiled when I do my end of season Prospect Report guide and that, along with evaluations and links to film, is also sent to the coaches.

The Friday Night Feats also helps us compile our candidates for the SCVarsity Players of the Week awards. While we wait on official stats from coaches, these give us an idea of who the finalists are going to be each week.

So, don’t make light of the importance of Friday Night Lights. Get it filled out for yourself, or if you are a coach or parent, get it filled out for your player(s).

This is one of the reasons that SCVARSITY.COM has been the leader in high school sports and recruiting news for 25 years.
