The Fab Five Rankings series is simply a ranking of the top five players at each position based on peformances thus far. This is not a prospect ranking and does not mean No. 1 guy is any better of a prospect than the No. 5 guy. What it means is that these are the rankings as I see it right now based on performance.
The Running Backs position is based on a point matrix in the stats involving total yards, yards per carry, touchdowns and touchdown percentage, with each category carrying a point value.
FAB FIVE RUNNING BACKS
1. AJ Reyes, Cardinal Newman – Actually, this wasn’t even close in the points total. In just two games, he’s rushed for 450 yards and 10 touchdowns. His YPC and TD % were through the roof with 28 yards per carry and a 28.1% scoring percentage on carries.
2. Cooper Johns, River Bluff – Johns was close because he is efficient. He’s 385 total yards and scored 7 touchdowns. He’s averaging 13 yards per carry and has a 24% scoring percentage on carries.
3. Jonah Norris, Lexington – has rushed for 502 yards and 7 touchdowns. Has a 7.49 yards per carry average and a 10% scoring percentage against his carries.
4. Jarvis Green, Dutch Fork – Leads all Midlands rushers with 554 yards and has 5 touchdowns. He’s averaging 9.5 yards per carry and has an 8% scoring percentage against carries.
5. Alias Graham-Woodberry, Gilbert – Has 380 yards (2 games played) with 4 touchdowns. He has a 12.6 yards per carry average with a 13% scoring percentage against carries.
It should be noted that only 7 total points separated the No. 2 through No. 5 backs. This is a very good group.
