The Keenan Raiders finished with a 4-4 overall record and 1-3 in region play in 2021. But the Raiders have high hopes that the 2022 version of this team will be much more successful.
There will be fourteen starters returning to the line up, including eight seniors. Coming back on offense will be senior quarterback Hernandez Oneal (5’11,200). Last season, Oneal put up 1,576 yards passing with 236 yards rushing and 19 touchdowns. Joining him on offense witll be senior wide receivers Josia Gilmore (5’9,150), WR Makaili Jamison (5-8,150), and Marquel Jackson (5’8,160), senior running back Quay Hoard (5’11,210) and senior OL Jahmire Smith (6’1,310). Sophomores WR Antonio Adams and OL Mike Swinton (6’2,290) also return.
Defensively, Gilmore will see time at defensive back to play both ways. Senior DL Tyreik Davidson (5’6,279( returns along with junior DL Ayon Abney (6’6,300), junior outside linebacker Brock Fleming (5’11,175), and sophomores Adis Jamison (5’9,150) at DB and Samtonions Johnson (6’0,198) at DL.
“We had some success last year and want to build on that to continue getting better,” said Christopher Allen, OL coach. “We want to be a contender in our region.”
