You could basically say that Dreher Head Football Coach Cory Jenkins is starting from scratch with the Blue Devils.
“We are a young team,” said Jenkins, “but I’m pleased with the talent we have. We just have to adapt a winning culture here.”
Offensively, the Blue Devils return just three senior starters. Wide Receiver Caleb Timmons (5’8,155) is a speedster who is a threatening slot guy. Up front, the Devils have two senior returners with Jaquan McClinton (6’2,250) and Devin FRazier (5’9,200). Juniors on offense will be OL Charles Jeffcoat (6’0,280), Jaden Hagood (5’10,170), WR Tyler Tisdale (5’11,165) and QB Colby Fuller (6’1,160). Sophomores Trey Clarkson (6’2,215) OL and Willie Smith (6’0,195) RB to play a lot of snaps.
Defensively, seniors Gavin Hucks (6’0,190) and Darrin Jenkins (6’0,200) come back at linebacker, along with senior DB Carrol Kelley (6’1,170). Look for Willie Smith to get a lot of time at linebacker for the Blue Devils.
“This is a very young team with talent,” said Jenkins,”but we have to learn how to do everything in a winning way.”
