Clemson Adds LB to 2023 Commitments

The week in recruiting is off to a good start for Clemson as the Tigers Monday landed a public commitment from LB Jamal Anderson (6-4 202) of Hoschton, GA.  Anderson’s father Jamal was a star running back for the Falcons who helped make the “Dirty Bird” touchdown celebration popular in the late 1990s when he led the Falcons to the Super Bowl.

Anderson made his official visit to Clemson over the June 3rd weekend. Last week he took an official visit to Utah, his father’s alma mater. Penn State and Michigan State were the other two teams in his final four. His offer list also included Southern Cal, Boston College, Missouri, Nebraska, Virginia Tech, Kansas and Duke.

Last season Anderson was in on 78 tackles with 7 tackles for loss, 4 sacks, 5 pass deflections and 2 interceptions. He’s the first linebacker commitment for Clemson’s 2023 class and the 10th overall.

The Tigers have two other prospects from their June 3rd official visit weekend set to announce this week. TE Markus Dixon is scheduled for a Tuesday release and DT Victor Burley will name his school on Wednesday.
