Five Things That Impressed Me On Friday Night

  1. AC Flora beating Union County. This is a huge win for the Falcons because Union County IS a good measuring stick. The defense is exactly who I said they were last week – the best in the Midlands. And Matt Pack…WOW. 226 yards rushing, 4 TDs rushing and one TD through the air.
  2. Lexington running backs. They run harder than any backs in the Midlands, they protect the ball, they are always moving forward and neither over a buck fifty in weight. Tip of the hat to Ahmad Bynum-Scott and Taylor Mathias.
  3. Gray Collegiate’s complete annihilation of Swansea. This team scored 63 points and only ran 6 offensive plays in the 2nd half. They scored three special team scores. QB Hunter Helms threw for 400 yards for the second consecutive week. And OD Dollison, WR, scored five touchdowns.
  4. Westwood’s win over Lugoff-Elgin. This win makes me feel much better than I did a week abo when they lost to Lugoff-Elgin. I personally think that game was a fluke due to weather conditions and missing their best player. This is a solid win over a good football team.
  5. Gilbert’s Offense. They’ve scored more than 110 points in two weeks and their QB Jy Tollen is feeling comfortable with the keys to the offense. They MUST find some defense to compliment their scoring attack.
