COACH’S AUDIBLE: We are expecting to be competitive in a very tough region and hold our own against the best teams in the state.
OUTLOOK: This is a well coached and talented football team. They return five starters on the offensive side of the football where they averaged more than 30 points per game last season. They return the most productive quarterback in the state in terns of stats. They move into a very tough region this year and last season lost to two of these new region foes (Dorman, Gaffney-twice) while beating Riverside, Maulding-twice, and Spartanburg in the playoffs. I think they will compete for a playoff spot but the region crown will be a challenge in the state’s toughest region.
MY TAKE: I like this team to go
7-3 with losses to Dorman, Gaffney and Byrnes. That said, Spartanburg nor Boiling Springs will be easy games and they could just as easily be 5-5. I believe Byrnes, Spartanburg and Boiling Springs are swing games for the Rams – could go either way.
