With just a few weeks before the kick off of the 2018 football season, here is a look at the Preseason Top Twenty for the Class 4A.
South Pointe grabs the top spot out of respect but I do feel there will be a slight drop off in terms of their dominance of the class. Hartsville will, again, be loaded and be the favorite in the lower state. Greer is the sleeper in the class…don’t be surprised if they end up being the top team in the upstate. York returns a lot of talent and both Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach will have a say in the lower state. If there is a sleeper in the top ten for lower state it has to be Brookland Cayce, moving up from 3A. The Bearcats have played in each of the last two lower state title games against Dillon in 3A and return a strong class.
