SCVarsity Class of 2019 Top 50 Footall Prospects

The Class of 2019 is going to be strong at the top but there is a lot of room for move ups once we get outside the top 20 and maybe even a
little inside the top 20. There is little doubt that T.L. Hanna Zach Pickens is the state’s top proscpect as far as the recruiters are]concerned, but there are a lot of talented prospects pushing inside that top ten.

The talent pool is full of athletes but the most difficult position, in my opinion, to find the right guys for the next level right now are defensive tackles. We have two good ones in this group who are moving up. Tyquan Johnson (6-4, 260) of Edisto and Tysheik Galloway (6-2, 290) of Belton-Honea Path are both players I like on film. Both of those guys have offers from ACC schools.

One guy on the list that I think could see a huge jump in stock this Spring and summer is Gilbert defensive end Darrius Bell. AT 6-3, 230, Bell has all of the tools, is aggressive off the snap and has the length and athleticism that could garner him some heavy attention during the evaluation period.

The quarterback position is down in 2019 in terms of Power Five type of guys but two upstate guys to watch are Greenville’s Davis Beville and T.L. Hanna’s Alex Meredith. Beville already has an offer from Pitt on the table and Meredith, who is more of an option-scheme quarterback, has an offer from West Pointe and that is exactly the type of offense he can be successful in.

This is our first list of the new year and as we go through more film, Spring workouts and Summer there are certain to be some changes as we put together our 2019 Top 100.
